This project was a design & construct contract for Northern Construction Solutions’ client and involved close and open cooperation in order to determine and develop the detailed scope of works whilst balancing that against the budget allowances and programme constraints.
Northern Construction Solutions limited were given responsibility for delivering the following work packages:
- reinforced concrete foundations
- foul & surface water drainage installation
- underground geothermal slinky pipe installation & associated chambers
- power floated reinforced concrete floor slab (1700m²)
- PCC retaining wall installation and reinforced concrete box culvert and headwalls to the lake
- substation building
- service trench & duct installation, including street lighting
In addition, Northern Construction Solutions constructed a 9m x 9m x 2.5m heavily reinforced concrete base incorporating the precision alignment and incorporation of a steel wind turbine housing shaft. The base was completed in a single pour.
By working closely with the client to fully understand the project’s inherent challenges Northern Construction Solutions were able to successfully handover a high quality project, on time, to budget and without any safety incidents.
