The contract involved the construction of approximately 2500m² of reinforced floor slabs and foundation thickenings consisting of three different types:
- suspended first floor and mezzanine
- ground floor slabs on prepared formation/visqueen
- ground floor slabs on insulation, incorporating under floor pipework heating system
The first floor was cast on Richard Lees Decking System and was reinforced with one layer of mesh. The ground floor slabs were reinforced with two layers of mesh and divided into pours dictated by the expansion joints. All of the concrete floor slabs were constructed to precise flatness tolerances.
The contract included the construction of 13 No. circular column casings, 600mm diameter by approximately 6m high, cast around structural steelwork columns.
Purpose made steel column shutters were fabricated to ensure accurate construction and a smooth uniform finish.
