Sustainability in Construction

Northern Construction Solutions are committed to addressing sustainability and recognise the need for a responsible approach to social, environmental and ethical issues and as such are aware of our responsibility towards the environment and social well being of the communities in which we operate. We are acutely aware of the need and indeed our responsibility to make a contribution to the need for sustainable development.

Our aims are simple yet effective:

• Raise awareness within our company from employees to our suppliers and subcontractors of the need for sustainability, encouraging participation in our aims and objectives.
• Reduce negative environmental impact by effective management of waste, careful choice of materials with consideration to design.
• Support the local community through local employment, interaction with local schools and contribution to local charities whenever possible.

Northern Construction Solutions are committed to our Environmental Policy and carry out our role in a responsible and ethical manner with a strong awareness of our environmental responsibilities.

Our aims are:

• Target and measure the continuous improvement of our EMS and monitor our performance in use of energy, water and wastage.
• Identify and Communicate good environmental practice throughout the business.
• Regularly review our policy regarding targets for recycled materials.
• Recognise and act upon protection of the area, protecting wildlife and embracing the importance of nature.
• Use of environmentally friendly materials and resources ensuring long term sustainability of all consumables.
